But we soon realized something: in the very heart of the fashion industry, true timelessness is surprisingly hard to find. Every season brings a new wave of trends, here today and forgotten tomorrow. Store windows change weekly, yet people's closets hold fewer and fewer pieces they truly treasure.
So we asked ourselves: what if we paused? What if, instead of chasing, we created?
In 2018, Ttyoma Store was born in a small studio in Brooklyn. We had no grand manifesto — only a simple idea: to make clothes we ourselves would want to wear for ten, even twenty years.
A simple idea, but not an easy one to bring to life. It meant we had to be "picky" at every step —
We searched for factories that still believed in quality. Not the ones chasing fast fashion, but those with craftsmanship passed down through generations, who understood the weight of every stitch. We visited them, listened to the stories of their seamstresses and tailors, making sure each piece came from people who truly respect clothing.
Our commitment to fabrics became almost stubborn. Cotton had to be long-staple, wool had to be fine and soft, linen had to carry its natural texture. We never asked if a fabric was "trending" — only if it could stand the test of time.
